To completely remove all Norton application files and references on your Mac, download and run the RemoveNortonMacFiles tool.

RemoveNortonMacFiles removes all the folders that Norton installers created, and all the files within those folders including any that you have created.

Download the RemoveNortonMacFiles.zip file.
Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
In the Finder window, click Downloads in the left pane under Favorites.
Do one of the following:
- If you downloaded the file using Safari browser, open the RemoveNortonMacFiles folder.
- If you downloaded the file using the Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome browsers, double-click the RemoveNortonMacFiles.zip file to expand it, and then open the RemoveNortonMacFiles folder.
In the RemoveNortonMacFiles folder, control-click the RemoveNortonMacFiles.command file, and then click Open with > Terminal (default).
To run this tool, you must be logged on with an Administrator account and a non-blank password.
Do one of the following:
- If you have not uninstalled Norton application on your macOS 10.15.x or later, a message appears in the Terminal window that prompts to drag and drop Norton from Applications folder to Trash. Go to step 7.
- If you have macOS 10.14.x and earlier, OR if you already uninstalled Norton on your macOS 10.15.x or later, go to step 13.
In the Terminal window, press return to open the Applications folder in Finder.
In the Applications folder, select the Norton application, and then drag and drop it to the Trash.
When you see a prompt, type your administrator account password, and then click OK.
In the Norton installer window, click Uninstall.
If you see a prompt, type your administrator account password, and then click Install Helper.
When the Norton uninstall finishes, run the RemoveNortonMacFiles.command file in Terminal again.
For more information, refer to the instructions in step 5 above.
In the Terminal window, type your administrator password, and then press return.
When you type your password, no characters appear.
To remove all Norton files and folders, type 1.
If you want to quit RemoveNortonMacFiles without removing any files, type 2.
Press return.
RemoveNortonMacFiles tool removes all of the Norton files.
When the RemoveNortonMacFiles tool finishes removing the Norton files, in the Terminal window, type y, and press return to restart your Mac.
Before you press return, make sure that you save your work in other open applications.

Before the advent of push notifications, traders could use their mobile phones to receive messages about their trading account status, trading signals and other relevant information. How it works?

Notifications received by users via MetaQuotes ID can be of two types: notifications from the desktop version of the client terminal and from MQL5.community services.

To subscribe for the client terminal's notifications, specify MetaQuotes ID in the terminal's settings. To receive push notifications from MQL5.community, specify MetaQuotes ID in your profile. In both cases notifications are sent to a mobile device with a specified MetaQuotes ID via a special server when a certain event occurs. They are delivered instantly.

The most interesting feature of sending notifications is adding an appropriate functionality to a trading robot. Special SendNotification() function is provided in MQL4 and MQL5 languages. The function is easy to use:

This sample MQL5 script sends a message to a mobile device with MetaQuotes ID specified in the terminal settings. The only parameter of SendNotification() function is a message text which should not exceed 255 characters.

Sending via alerts

You do not have to know MQL4 or MQL5 to work with push notifications. Messages sending can be configured via 'Alerts' function in MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 terminals:

Select 'Notification' in 'Action' and enter the text that should be sent when a specified event occurs in 'Source' field.

MQL5 account security

For additional protection of your account, you can enable two-step authentication which is also based on push notifications and MetaQuotes ID. If you open the site from an unknown IP address, then in addition to the login and password you'll need to enter a special one-time code which will be sent to your mobile device using MetaQuotes ID. Enable 'Authorize from allowed static IP addresses only' option at Profile — Settings — Security:

If you use a static IP address, add it to the list. You won't need to enter a one-time code when visiting the site from that address. In all other cases, a code to login to your MQL5 account will be sent to your MetaTrader 4/5 mobile terminal.
